Here is a simple trace of the card's shape. I had originally gone with the idea of outlining the card in detail but scrapped it later for a simpler base layer.
This is the simpler, less curvy outline and fill.
Selecting the components to trace was difficult, but I think I achieved a comfortable balance between realism and simplicity.
This is how it looked before some final colouring and shading.
The GPU in this frame is complete, now to rearrange for a wallpaper look.
Branding was a requirement for entry to the competition, so I used their motto and provided logo. I *think* the placement and white-space works well.
Re-organised the layout for a centred design.
After more debating with myself I tried a new idea.
(P.S. I added the metal I/O shield)
Finally, I flattened the PCB with the background and added a full-stop to the motto. Also everyone loves dark wallpapers.
And that's it.
Of course, while it would be a dream to win the wallpaper contest, I still had so much fun and learned a fair bit during this short, afternoon project.
